Enjoying the Journey Across District 27
Yesterday, I put in some long hours installing signs in the farthest reaches of the district. As I made my way east over Cuny Table in the evening, I got to see the shadows cast across the South Unit of Badlands National Park near the White River Ranger Station.
Since I started putting up campaign signs, I’ve reminded myself each day to enjoy the journey. Despite the hot, humid temperatures this past week, the long days, and the commitments waiting for me when I get back home, there is a lot to appreciate along the way.
I’ve seen beautiful scenery and wildlife, and I’ve met great people eager to learn more about my campaign. The one-on-one conversations remind me why I am running for State Senate. Hearing their stories and the challenges they face is one of the greatest rewards I receive as a candidate...not to mention a few honks from vehicles and trucks as I put up my signs.
I look forward to sharing more photos and stories with you as I make my way around the district throughout September and October.
