Congratulations to our Bennett County Warriors on their Friday night win under the lights against the Stanley County Buffaloes, 24–6. It was a great evening for the Warriors as they improved their season record to 2–1.

I enjoyed watching the game and explaining it to our local pastor from Uganda, Fr. Francis Nsubuga. He made it through all four quarters; however, I think he still prefers soccer over American football because of its fast pace.

As I explained to Fr. Francis, American football is built on strategy and forms many of our young men into disciplined individuals who go on to fight for our country as soldiers, airmen, and sailors. The goal of the game is to advance the ball down the field enough times to outscore your opponent and lead your team to victory.

In some ways, this campaign is a lot like a football game. The preseason work of strategizing and conditioning is finished. Labor Day weekend is here, and starting after Labor Day, it's time to put that strategy and conditioning into action until the final minutes leading up to General Election Day on November 3rd—when all the hard work, sweat, and effort will hopefully pay off.

Hopefully, this time, I will get the "ball" across the end zone and celebrate a victory like our Bennett County Warriors did this Friday.

See you at the homecoming parade this Friday. Have a great weekend!
