Picking Up the Pieces of My Campaign

Good afternoon District 27. I just got back from Imlay after being outside in the much-needed rain picking up my last campaign sign. I thought I would provide you with an update on my campaign for state senate. It has been four days since I learned of the November 5th general election results around 4:30 AM the day after the election. It was a close race, but in the end, it did not go the way I had hoped. I have been busy spending quality time with family members for two days. Lastly, I have been crisscrossing the district by putting almost 750 miles on my vehicle while picking up my campaign yard signs from all the landowners who hosted one of my signs. It was a great way for some alone time and to reflect on what happened.

Local media has requested an official response from my campaign regarding the election results. I will not be making an official statement until I have had time to collect my thoughts and put them down in writing. My emotions are all across the spectrum at the moment; however, I will get through this. To be honest, I am relieved that the campaign is over. Based on the many text messages, phone calls, and personal conversations that I have had the past few days, many of my supporters are likewise disappointed in the outcome of this election and have shared their personal thoughts with me. For now, I just wanted you to know that I appreciate all the kind messages from the many people who have reached out to me. It is your thoughts and prayers that allowed me to persevere to the finish line. Stay tuned for an official response from my campaign regarding the results of this election. Have a good weekend. God bless.
