Good afternoon, District 27. The weather has been fantastic—what a beautiful Friday and a great way to close out the month of February. Yesterday was a busy day for me, but I was able to catch the second half of the Bennett County Lady Warriors basketball game at the Warrior Center.

I want to extend my congratulations to the Lady Warriors on their 57–40 victory over the Kadoka Area Lady Kougars, advancing them to the Class B SoDak 16 tournament bracket. It was an exciting matchup, and it was encouraging to see such a strong turnout from both sides of District 27, with fans proudly cheering on their respective schools.

Moments like these are part of what makes living in West River so special. Rival schools compete fiercely on the court, yet our entire communities come together in support—wearing school colors, filling the stands, and bringing energy and excitement in the darkness of winter. Win or lose, it reflects the pride, unity, and spirit of our small-town communities.

Best of luck to the BC Lady Warriors as they continue their pursuit of another State B Girls Basketball championship title.
