Our Community Deserves Better

This Saturday (August 8, 2026), while at the Bennett County Fairgrounds eating my pork and beef sandwiches, I observed my opponent, a Democratic Socialist,  canvassing voters with a posed smile and distributing her campaign literature. What the voters didn’t see was this post she made on Facebook an hour later.

Apparently, she believes that the children in our local school district are racist.

As someone who has substitute taught in this district for five years and completed my student teaching here, I never once witnessed racist comments from students or teachers. This comment from one of my two opponents is divisive and only further stokes racial tensions within the people of this district rather than uniting us around a common purpose. Comments like this fan the flames of racism, while being unsubstantiated and unwarranted.

As a 35-year-old principal and educator at Little Wound Middle School, Candidate Stadnick should know better than to come into a community and accuse our children of being racist. Yet, rather than recognizing the divisiveness of such a statement, she appears tone-deaf to the racial bias inherent in her own accusation, bringing discredit to the teaching profession.

Candidate Stadnick, “Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye?” (Mt 7:3).

April 29, 2020 - Racist comment as Candidate Stadnick prepares to drive through a Pine Ridge Reservation Highway Checkpoint.

Our community deserves better from our politicians. I will represent all people in this district regardless of race, color, or ethnic origin. My campaign is about uniting us around a common purpose and working toward a brighter future.

On November 3, 2026, vote for Anthony Kathol for South Dakota State Senate in District 27.
