Good afternoon District 27. I want to send a shout-out to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society here in Martin for a fantastic evening at their annual fall bazaar. One of my favorite activities during the fall is attending bazaars at various churches because of the homemade food and delicious desserts. It is also a great evening for fellowship. Last night, I was able to pick up some goodies to snack on and was successful at winning a pumpkin pie during the pie auction. All funds raised go back to maintaining the church, cemetery, dinner for religious education programs, scholarships, parish renovations, and other church-related projects. There was plenty of leftover food that was sent home with me. I thank these hard-working women for all they do for our active parish community. Attending a parish bazaar is part of our cultural heritage in South Dakota. If elected your state senator, I am committed to preserving our rich cultural heritage and agricultural roots. God bless.
